    The university investments team is a core component of the Foundation’s efforts to connect scholars, students, and partners with the resources to explore diverse ideas and solutions that meet the challenges of our day. As a program officer, you’ll be responsible for driving part of the Foundation’s existing portfolio of grants to universities, students, scholars, and other non-profits. You’ll also have the opportunity to help identify and evaluate new opportunities for impactful philanthropy in higher education. Your interpersonal skills will allow you to foster meaningful, long-term relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.

    Your Responsibilities Include

     

    • Manage an existing portfolio of grants to educational programs, graduate student programs, and other grants aligned with the organizational vision
    • Collaborate across teams and with partners to drive results, effectively manage projects and relationships, and ensure success of grants
    • Cultivate relationships with faculty, administrators, and other stakeholders and represent the Foundation among university partners
    • Make grant recommendations to decision makers
    • Some travel required in order to maintain relationships with external partners

     

     

    Knowledge and Skills You Bring to the Organization

     

    • 7+ years of professional experience, 5+ years of experience in relationship management in a development and fundraising, business development, sales, or external relations capacity in a higher ed or philanthropic environment
    • Demonstrated ability to use sound judgement and superior professionalism in nurturing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    • A commitment to the organization’s mission and philosophy
    • High degree of intellectual curiosity and a drive to seek out the best knowledge to inform and improve your work
    • High level of humility and integrity
    • Entrepreneurial spirit and high sense of urgency
    • Strong organizational skills
